This is a place for people of all races, colour and creed wherever they may live, who wish to see Democracy and Justice restored to our beloved islands. Before Rabuka, before Speight and before Bainimarama, Fiji was a gentler, more loving place, a group of islands, truly blessed with a temperate climate, abundant food from the hills, the plains and the ocean and cool clean clear water. Fiji was a place of peace, love and tolerance. Accordingly she grew and prospered, her people became educated and began to travel the world taking with them the unique nature of their islands.
As a citizen, you have a choice between two different paths. One path is easy. When you turn on the TV or open the newspaper and hear about all the trouble in the world you could walk away from the stories about Iraq or poverty or violence or joblessness or hopelessness. Just turn it off and tune out. That would be the easiest thing in the world to do. There will be pundits and politicians who will tell you that it’s someone else’s fault and someone else’s problem to fix.
I am not one of them.
There is a second path. This one is more difficult. It asks more of you. It asks you to not just pursue your own individual dreams, but to help perfect our collective dream as a nation. It asks you to realize there is more to life than being rich, thin, young, famous, safe, and entertained. It asks you to recognize that there are people out there who need you.
The Fiji of old is now constantly under attack and is in serious danger of disappearing forever, due to a series of military coups and violent takeover of constitutionally elected governments. A new, ugly and brutish Fiji is emerging, where young men are beaten and killed and young women are raped and tortured and where the voice of truth, love, tolerance and wisdom is trampled under the jackboots of a corrupt and cruel dictatorship, peopled by tyrants and opportunists. For all of us the world over and for those still living in our beautiful islands this site is dedicated to encouraging, empowering and educating our people to battle this tyranny of oppression and take Fiji back to a vibrant active democracy.
This site is dedicated to networking with all our people in Fiji and supporting them with the appropriate resources, knowledge and encouragement to fight the good fight, to destroy forever the coup culture that has riddled our islands like cancer. As stated by President Obama in his quotation above, with the click of a mouse button, you can sigh and move on or you can click on the registration button and join us in this noble endeavour, the choice is yours.
I leave you with the chorus of an old Fijian ballad
Dau kacivi ira lesu, luvemu tu yawa
Me ra lesu tale mai, kina vanua ni tadra
Cegu ni yalo, na yago talega
Noqu vanua, noqu vanua, ni marau |
The people of Fiji is under brutal military Dictatorship.
The Free Fiji Campaign exists to alert the world to this ongoing tragedy and expose the military regime led by Dictator Voreqe Bainimarama.

Fiji police commander Teleni quits
The Police Commissioner in Fiji has resigned.
Commodore Esala Teleni says he believes he has made a significant contribution to the police force, however, it is now time for him to consider further career opportunities.
Earlier this month the editor of Fijilive was taken in for questioning, over a report alleging Commodore Teleni had been arrested.
Fiji’s Permanent Secretary for Information Sharon Smith Johns acknowledges there’s been speculation surrounding the Police Commissioner’s role but says it was Commodore Teleni’s own decision to resign.
“I don’t think there was any motive behind it. He’s been with the police force for the last three years. And you know it’s his decision after three years to go onto greener pastures. As I said, you know, it comes down to a personal decision made by the Commodore.”
Sharon Smith Johns says the government will soon post an advertisement to find a suitable replacement for Commodore Teleni.
The Deputy Police Commissioner Joeli Baleilevuka will be standing in as Acting Commissioner until a replacement is found.
